I knew nothing about her so I found it very interesting about her development as an artist and her muse. I liked the staging overall and the songs are a step up from the rather bland sound of most shows this season. I wish Beth leavel has more to do than Sing one lovely song in the second act. I use earplugs for most shows and i did here for the loud belted songs—and there are several.
Of the 8 musicals I saw this spring, elephants and lempicka were the only ones I truely enjoyed. Is it a masterpiece—no. Will you regret missing it—no. Is it worth 3 hours and $50–yes. |
