Fun to note that Judy Holliday also won a Tony for a comedic role, 7 years later in Bells Are Ringing, beating Julie Andrews in My Fair Lady.

Of course we all know what show/role/performance most people looking back would assume would have or should have won, and Bells Are Ringing hasn't had nearly the life or legend or love that MFL has enjoyed as a show to produce, or as cast album(s)... and the movie of Bells Are Ringing is barely remembered and had nowhere near the success of the My Fair Lady movie, though ironically Judy Holliday did get to play her role in the BAR movie and Julie Andrews did not. (though the film of Bells is quite different, I think, and the film of MFL is nearly the same as on stage)

That 1950 Oscars race is a fascinating one, and it really is a shame all those performances had to compete against each other... each one is an utterly iconic and deeply deserving of an Oscar.
