...I'll take beautifully acted (and sung) performances and great full-orchestra musicality over spectacle any day of the week, but the my one disappointment with the Into the Woods revival was the Encores style staging for the transfer -- with everyone shoved down stage in front of the orchestra. And, some of the production values were very community theatre esque -- I mean compare the witch's Last Minute exit from the revival to the original production.
Do we think we'll get much of a staging with this one or will it be almost a carbon copy of whatever was staged for Encores? |
