I loathed it.

Aside from Amy Trigg's performance, I came away with nothing positive to say about it.

To me, it was a prime example of a show where writers think just throwing songs into a show makes it a musical. Wrong. There is so much more to the craft than that and it clearly lacked writers and a director who could give it proper structure and flow to make the story move and the characters engaging.

It was a bit of a turning point for me as a theatregoer as, having sat through MANDELA, SYLVIA, STANDING AT THE SKY'S EDGE and a number of other godawful "new British musicals" also around that time, I have now started to avoid them. The final nail in the coffin was JUST FOR ONE DAY but I have booked A FACE IN THE CROWD with hopes it might restore a bit of faith in me. And yes, I saw OPERATION MINCEMEAT. No further comment on that one.

This show should not be anywhere near a Broadway theatre.
