| The Tonys can (and have in the past) handed out a Special Ensemble Tony Award to a show it deems worthy, for example to La Plume de Ma Tante in 1959. I doubt they will ever add an ensemble category as a competitive award for various reasons that have been discussed on this board many, many times. In 2000 they created the category Special Theatrical Event as a competitive award, but then discontinued it in 2009 for various reasons. |
